And what skills (like a specific turn or something) do you need to complete that jump successfully? What, in your opinion, is the easiest figure skating jump?
bunny hop and or free jump ( waltz jump)What, in your opinion, is the easiest figure skating jump?
For me, waltz jumps and salchows and toe loops used to be the easiest, but now I must say it is either my single flip or single loop. Once a skater advances on skills, the once easy ones seem hard to accomplish because it's so easy it feels like you're doing it wrong. Plus, since it's so easy, you forget how to do it sometimes or do it wrong.
Waltz jump: when you first get it, they don't expect much of it, but getting better in other stuff, they'll expect it to be big and high, for your toe pick to be the last thing to leave the ice when you jump, for your legs to be straight, etc.
Salchow: outside three turn, there are other ways to do it though
Toe loop: commonly done with a inside three turn, reach with the toe back and use your foot that not tapping into the ice to push yourself up
Flip: inside mohawk or outside three turn
Loop: inside three turn or plain backwards crossovers
Lutz: check your shoulders correctly, get on the outside edge
the first few jumps that you learn first is bunny hop, waltz jump, and 3 jump.
bunny hop...i've never quite mastered it since my co-ordination doesn't work that way LOL
waltz jump, to gain the speed just do a few forward cross overs then forward gliding on one leg jump into a 180 and land backwards onto the other leg.
3 jump is just like a 3 turn but instead of turning on ice, jump and turn in the air. like the waltz jump, its a forward entrance then from a one foot glide jump and 180 landing backwards on the same leg.
waltz jump is suppose to be the easiest because it is the most basic, but for me the single flip is the easiest. you need to have a strong left outside 3-turn. also you need to be able to do a single rotation in the air
waltz jump need to have a good steady right or left kick
or flip i don't know why but i just caught on to that jump very quickly
good 3 turns help with that jump a lot too
:)
bunny hop ! you glide on one foot and kick one up in the air
or
waltz jump glide in on one foot and land backward on the other
haha, i'm really bad at explaining things, sorry =)
bunny hop- you need to glide and then just do a little skip
waltz jump- nothing special to do this. jump off left foot, land on right backwards.
for me, a toe loop is the easiest for doubles and triples. right inside three turn take off with left toe pick.
BUNNY HOP duhhhh
