What does it mean when they say a figure is ';annualized?';?

If a company has a CYTD June 'Annualized' unit sales metric of 120, does that mean that:

1.) they have 120 units up to and including June, or does that mean that,

2.) they have 60 units up to and including June, and that - using that pace as an indicator (1/2 through the year), they should be expected to have 120 units by the end of the year? What does it mean when they say a figure is ';annualized?';?
