How do you figure out the area of a blueprint?

We are designing a house and we need to know how to find the measurements of each room. Please help!!!How do you figure out the area of a blueprint?
Just measure the length and width of each room, then scale it down to the sheet of paper. There are many different scales, but you may try 1/8'; = 1'-0';. So if a room is 10 feet long and 8 foot wide, you could draw it on paper as 10/8'; x 8/8'; = 2 1/4'; x 1';. It'll make sense once you get started. How do you figure out the area of a blueprint?
Normally each room is dimensioned in a blueprint. If not measure the length using a scale and multiply with the scale of the drawing[eg iinch =10ft]
Look for the scale at the bottom of the drawing.

1'; = 1' or something to that effect then use a ruler or a drawing scale
