How do I even begin to figure this math problem out?

Kelly purchased a frying pan than was on sale for 38% off. She saved $1.48.

What was the original price of the frying pan?

Leave off the $ for computer grading.How do I even begin to figure this math problem out?
these info. given from the problem:

38%= 1.48

62%= x

38%/1.48=62%/x

.38x=.62*1.48

.38x=.92

.38x/.38=.92/.38

X=2.43 add it striaght from the CALC. with 1.48 the result is $3.90How do I even begin to figure this math problem out?
38% is equal to $1.48

So:

38% = $1.48

100% = x

x = 100% * 1.48 / 38%

x = 1 * 1.48 / 0.38

x = 1.48/0.38

x = 3.89

Let's make sure.

3.89 * 38% = 3.89 * 0.38 = 1.48

All values were rounded.
you have to make an equation. 1.48=.38 x P ( ';P'; being the original price of the frying pan)... and then just solve for P and you will have your answer
38% / 100% = $1.48/ $X solve for X and you will get the total cost of the frying pan!
(38/100)/1.48 = 100/100/price, since you're told what she saved; so, 3800p = 14800, and so p = $3.89
your answer is $3.90

you take the $1.48 and divide is by the 38% (.38)
