Will a different figure 8 noseband work on my bridle?

I have a figure 8 Noseband and I was wondering if I were to buy a regular English bridle if I could use the noseband on there? Or does the noseband have to come with the bridle? Will it still work?Will a different figure 8 noseband work on my bridle?
