What is generally worn to a figure skating test?

Its my first test and I want to know what people wear to them. Its a MIF testWhat is generally worn to a figure skating test?
As the ladies above already mentioned, a modest skating dress would be appropriate . . . as they say, it should not be ';theatrical';. You can just wear a simple, undecorated dress off the rack. The judges will be focusing on your ';moves'; - not the costume.

Dark, solid colors/designs are always safe - it will give you a nice line. I always tested with a long sleeve style - but that was a personal choice (I needed to keep warm as much as possible!).

Be sure you test out your outfit on the ice before your test date. You don't want any surprises that day like it doesn't fit, or that there's a seam that needs fixing! Make sure it's comfortable for you to skate in.

And don't forget to polish your boots (unless you're wearing over-the-boot tights).

If you're not entirely sure about an outfit being appropriate, you can always show it to your coach. It's your first test, so I'm sure at some point he/she will go over what you should wear.

Best of luck on your test!!What is generally worn to a figure skating test?
Typically skaters wear a simple dress (no fancy sequins or anything) and tights and a pair of gloves if you would like. Good luck!
We were all ways required to wear a plain dress and our hair had to be pulled back in a bun. The idea is to look very Clean and classy so the judges can focus on your MIF test as apposed to what you are wearing. Also make sure if you arent wearing over the boot tights that your boots are touched up and polished.
Skaters usually wear a plain colored skating dress (usually black or navy blue), tights and a sweater -- the type you would probably wear during warm-up for a competition. The point is to look very clean and classy, without a lot of sparkles and distractions. Make sure your hair is pulled back too! Good luck on your test!
Generally, you don't have to get all fancy schmancy about what you wear. Just wear a sleek but simple (just one primary color) dress or a sweater you can wear during warm up. Make sure you don't have any jewlery, shiny stuff, or anything that will get in the way (long skirt). Be sure to wear tights, non-boot (but no gloves, sorry!) and have you hair up in a pony tail so it won't get in the way. (or a bun) The focus is so the judges will look at your rouitine and technique, not the busy costume you're wearing. Be nice and classy!

Make sure your boots are nice and polished.

Hope this helps!

Good luck!!!

for a skating test all u need to wear is a plain colored dress, like a practice dress if u have one. pull ur hair back into a ponytail or something so it doesnt get in ur way. wear gloves too if u want.
A ';plain'; dress:

Few sequins or rhinestones, if any at all

One color, usually white, black, or navy, sometimes red or pink, but understated and all one color

Then wear tights and have your boots polished and laces tucked in if you don't have tights that go over your boots.

Sometimes skaters wear a light sweater that matches the dress color.
