Why is Benjamin Franklin an important figure to study in American History?

I'm writing an essay and I have writer's block.





Other than all the contributions he has given to society,


why would it be dire to study Benjamin Franklin in


American History classes?





I need ideas...Why is Benjamin Franklin an important figure to study in American History?
If you have writer's block then having contributor's tell you things you already know wont help you. Ask yourself why Franklin was different from the rest of the noted persons of his time. Ask yourself how you would tell others about who the man was, how he was ahead of his time and what impact he had on society. Would society have been able to enter the Industrial Revolution without his discoveries?Why is Benjamin Franklin an important figure to study in American History?
He was in congress for the signing of the declaration of independence.





He was one of the first politicians in the United States, and if im not mistaken he also helped (maybe even did it all himself) with creating the fire dept, and the post office. He ran a news paper his whole life, because he believed in freedom of speech, and he did a lot of kick *** experiments with electricity.
His contributions to the Declaration of Indepedence and his work as ambassador to France during the Revolution would make studying him important even if he had not done the science, the post office, the magazine, the free library, etc.
He was a founding father and represented the colonies in London before the American Revolution and was minister to France. He was involved in the formation of this country.


He was the inventor of many important items including bifocals so he could see far objects and read without changing his glasses. He also invented the lightning rod and a furnace stove.
