Why do female hockey players hate figure skaters ?

Figure skating is a sport too ! It requires mental and physical toughness! I am a figure skater and I respect hockey players. Why do they think figure skaters are snobby little twits who dance around on ice without an effort ?Why do female hockey players hate figure skaters ?
In my opinion, I think it has something to do with how stereotypically, ';girls figure skate and boys play hockey.'; Figure skating is what society says they're ';supposed'; to do, but they've decided that that's not a part of skating they enjoy the most. Just like when a girl would rather try out for football than be on the cheerleading squad....that's an area they feel they fit in better, but sometimes because they've decided to do something out of society's norm, they get picked on for it. Why some of them are less than pleasant to figure skaters, I'm not sure. Maybe it's a 2-way street -- they assume figure skaters are snots, which is another stereotype that has evolved, so it's a 'get them before they get me' attitude.





There are some hockey players who do appreciate skating for its difficulty and some who don't. There's a hockey skills coach at our rink who teaches all of her students not to harass figure skaters because she started skating as an ice dancer, which is really cool. She tells them that in technically, figure skaters could skate circles around them, so it's a battle that they shouldn't even bother starting! Just like anywhere you go, you're going to find people who are a little more open minded and ones who think their the top of the heap in everything. (the little boy hockey players are the ones who irritate me the most....probably because their parents don't watch them and they act like they were just let out of a cage when they get to the rink!)





I've had girl hockey players look down their nose at me too, but all you can really do is be friendly, show respect and if they blow you off, that's their own problem. I think a large majority of figure skaters love hockey and respect the players....they just need to return the favor. If I hear, ';Ugg, you dumb figure skaters put holes in OUR ice,'; one more time, I think I'll lose it. Or.... :) maybe the girls are just mad because most of the guy hockey players would rather date figure skaters? Dunno, just a theory. hahahaWhy do female hockey players hate figure skaters ?

I think that this is because the figgies are so curvy and cutsie and hate mcdonalds but the hockies are big and huge and don't like makeup. but i think girls hockey is awesome.

Um Miley im a hockey player k. And I hate McDonalds, wear makeup and im not huge. Hockey players do have to be in shape. My team runs every day so dont try it. The reason I hate figure skaters so much is because every figure skater ive ever met have been really stuck up and bitc*y. Also figure skaters leave divits in the ice and ive hurt my knee many times in them. Lastly its not girl hockey players, im on a guys team and they have the same opinons as me. So to me its not all figure skaters its just the bitchy, self centered, brats.








O yeah and pinksk whatever your name is im dating a guy on my hockey team and the rest of the guys arnt to fond of the figure skaters either. Dont try to say hockey girls are jealous becasue hockey guys like figure skaters. Got It!

Ive been seeked out so many times by other teams during games just to hit me so ill get hurt and quit so dont even try to play the o figure skating is harder the hockey card cause its just as hard!
It is probably the ego thing.
Because figure skaters look cute and sexy while they look the exact opposite. Don't mind them. I love watching figure skaters do their moves on the rink.
