My dog has a black scabby thing under his fur and we cant figure out what it is?

It doesnt look like a tick but it could be for all I know. Its getting bigger and Ive attempted to pull it off but dont want to if its not a tick. Its black and has the texture of a dogs paw pad. Any ideas? My dog has a black scabby thing under his fur and we cant figure out what it is?
It could be a tick from the colour and texture. Move it some and look for legs sticking up at the area stuck to the dogs skin. If you don't see any, then may not be a tick. Could be a skin tag. If you think it's something to worry about, take your dog to the Vet.My dog has a black scabby thing under his fur and we cant figure out what it is?
If you don't know what it is why don't you take the dog to the vets? how can anyone reply to something they havnt seen? it could be anything, a wart, a mole, a tumour. This dog needs to go to the vets..... like NOW!
It could be just a mole; however, you need to get it checked out by a vet- do not attempt to pull it off.
I would talk to the vet, it could be a tick that is engorged which in that case it needs to go, now! If the vte isnt an option tweezers and a good source of light would help you remove it. On the other hand it could be a growth or a cyst, the texture you describe reminds me of a cyst. Usually ticks are hard and buggy- textured not paw-pad feeling. It might just be a benign growth which will get larger over time, or it could be malignant which is worst case scenario. Only way to know for sure is to have the vet look at it, if it is a growth they will biospy it. Chances are if it is a young healthy dog, its nothing. The older the dog the more likely it is to be something cancerous.
