MacBeth is similar to what historical figure?

I need to find a historical figure that is in some way similiar to MacBeth. The person needs to be within the last 50-60 years or so. Thanks any help would be appreciated.MacBeth is similar to what historical figure?
You could compare Macbeth with other Shakespearean tragedy protagonists, such as Othello or King Lear. Or if you want to get more modern, you could compare Macbeth to a historical figure, such as Hitler or Stalin from the 20th century. How is Macbeth like these infamous dictators, and how does he differ? That would require some additional searching, but the Internet (including eNotes) is full of information about both Hitler and Stalin.MacBeth is similar to what historical figure?
Most people compare Macbeth to Richard Nixon since both were guilty of overreaching ambition. Some productions even update the production and set it in Washington DC with Macbeth going from a Cabinet post to VP to president. John Dean, one of the ones convicted in the Watergate hearings, which was Nixon's downfall, wrote a book called Blind Ambition; and, as I said earlier, Macbeth's ';tragic flaw'; is excessive ambition.
Mac Bethad mac Findlach [anglicized as McBeth [he was King of Scots from1040 until his death]
